Parenting Seminar at Santa Ursula POS: Supporting Adolescents Through Social and Emotional Challenges

On January 31, 2026, the SOA Psychological & Educational Support Center conducted a Parenting Seminar for middle school parents at Santa Ursula POS, focusing on how parents can effectively respond to the social and emotional challenges of adolescence.

Adolescence is a period of significant emotional, social, and psychological growth. During the seminar, parents gained a deeper understanding of the developmental changes their children experience and explored practical ways to provide guidance while fostering independence, resilience, and emotional well-being.

The session covered common challenges faced by adolescents, including emotional regulation, peer relationships, self-esteem, and communication within the family. Parents also learned evidence-based strategies for strengthening trust, responding with empathy, setting healthy boundaries, and creating an environment where teenagers feel safe to share their thoughts and experiences.

Through interactive discussions and real-life examples, the seminar encouraged parents to view adolescence not simply as a challenging phase, but as an important opportunity to strengthen their relationship with their children. By equipping parents with practical knowledge and communication skills, SOA hopes to empower families to support adolescents as they navigate this important stage of development.

SOA sincerely thanks Santa Ursula POS for the opportunity to partner in promoting the social and emotional well-being of students and their families. We look forward to continuing our collaboration in supporting healthy child and adolescent development.
