On January 15, 2026, the SOA Psychological & Educational Support Center team visited St. Nicholas Citra to conduct a Parenting Seminar for Primary and Secondary School parents on the topic “Parenting Style and Mental Health.”
The seminar explored how different parenting styles can influence children’s emotional, social, and psychological development. Parents were encouraged to reflect on their own parenting approaches and gain a deeper understanding of how everyday interactions at home can shape their children’s mental health, resilience, and overall well-being.
Throughout the session, participants learned about the characteristics of various parenting styles, the importance of balancing warmth with appropriate boundaries, and practical ways to foster secure parent-child relationships. The seminar also highlighted strategies for promoting healthy communication, emotional regulation, and self-esteem while supporting children through the different developmental stages from childhood to adolescence.
Through interactive discussions and evidence-based insights, parents gained practical tools to create a nurturing home environment where children feel safe, supported, and empowered to grow both emotionally and academically.
SOA sincerely thanks St. Nicholas Citra for the opportunity to partner in supporting families and promoting positive mental health. We look forward to continuing our collaboration with schools and parents in fostering the healthy development and well-being of children and adolescents.
