On July 2, 2026, the SOA Psychological & Educational Support Center conducted a teacher training workshop at Sekolah Trauna Bangsa on the topic “Implementing Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) in Conflict Management and Student Relationships.”
The training focused on equipping teachers with practical strategies to integrate Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) into their daily interactions with students, particularly in managing conflicts and fostering healthy peer relationships. Recognizing that social and emotional competencies are essential for both academic success and personal growth, the workshop emphasized the important role educators play in creating a positive and supportive learning environment.
Throughout the session, participants explored the core principles of SEL and learned evidence-based approaches to helping students develop self-awareness, emotional regulation, empathy, responsible decision-making, and effective communication. Teachers also discussed practical techniques for guiding students through conflicts, promoting respectful dialogue, and encouraging collaborative problem-solving among peers.
Through interactive discussions, case studies, and classroom-based applications, educators gained valuable insights into building classrooms where students feel safe, respected, and connected. By strengthening students’ social-emotional competencies, schools can cultivate a culture of empathy, resilience, and positive relationships that supports both learning and overall well-being.
SOA sincerely thanks Sekolah Trauna Bangsa for the opportunity to collaborate in supporting teacher professional development. We look forward to continuing our partnership in empowering educators to create inclusive, emotionally supportive, and socially connected learning communities.
